Legent vs Hootsuite — enterprise suite or founder tool?
Hootsuite is an enterprise social media suite; Legent is a focused tool for solo founders, and the honest comparison starts with price. Hootsuite's cheapest professional plan costs about 99 dollars a month, and its strengths justify that for the right buyer: social listening, inbox management across networks, approval chains, and compliance controls for regulated teams. Legent does none of that enterprise work. It schedules to your networks, scores each draft with an AI optimizer before it publishes, and reports which posts performed in one unified view — for a one-time 29-dollar early-access price. A marketing department of five with a listening budget should buy Hootsuite without hesitation. A single founder posting to X and LinkedIn between coding sessions is paying Hootsuite for seats, permissions, and dashboards they will never open. Choose by team size and budget: above roughly three people, Hootsuite; one person shipping a product, Legent.
Where Hootsuite wins — genuinely
Social listening and inbox
Hootsuite monitors mentions, keywords, and DMs across networks in one inbox. Legent has no listening features at all.
Team and compliance workflows
Approval chains, roles, and permission controls that legal or brand teams require. Legent is single-user today.
Network coverage
Hootsuite covers more networks, including paid-ad integrations Legent does not touch.
Where Legent wins
Price for one person
$29 once versus ~$1,188 a year. For a solo founder, that gap funds actual ad spend.
Pre-publish AI optimization
Hootsuite's OwlyWriter drafts content; it does not score a finished draft and tell you why it will underperform before you publish. Legent's optimizer does.

Is Hootsuite worth $99 a month for a solo founder?
Usually not. The features that justify Hootsuite's price — listening, inbox triage, approval chains, ad integration — assume a team dividing the work. A founder posting a few times a day uses perhaps a tenth of the product while paying full seat price. That money is better spent where it moves a solo company's needle.
What does Legent deliberately not do?
Legent skips listening, inbox management, ads, and multi-seat permissions on purpose. The product is a composer with an editor's judgement: write once, get scored, publish everywhere, see what worked. If your job description includes 'community management' rather than 'shipping product', Hootsuite's breadth beats Legent's focus.
